Thanksgiving day

Running Deer is a Crow-Indian. He has something important to tell to his classmates.

Kristoffer Kolumbus landed here in 1492. He didn't know where he was. He thought he was in India. Our people arrived more than 20,000 years ago. We all loved nature. Settlers arrived from England in 1620. We helped them. We didn't see the danger. In the 19th and 20th centuries millions of people arrived. We Crows lost our land. We didn't by food or clothes. We hunted buffalos.

Native Americans didn't have a car. They didn't watch tv. They didn't rollerblade. They didn't wear jeans. They didn't play computer games. They didn't drink coca-cola. They didn't have mobile phones.

We lived in tepees. But we are still here and I am proud of that.
